American Mixed Martial Artist (MMA) and former collegiate wrestler, Bubba Jenkins, has shared with eTV Ghana, his reasons for visiting his homeland, Ghana.
In an exclusive interview on eTVGhana’s The Team, aired on eTV, Jenkins revealed that he was invited to Ghana by the President of the National House of Chiefs, Togbui Afede XIV, whom he met in London after defending his title at his last World Championship.
According to him, Togbui Afede XIV saw his desire and aspiration to want to inspire the youth with what he does. They later found out that he has a lot of strong ties here in Ghana so Togbui Afede XIV thought it best that the champion come to Ghana to show his support for not only the future of MMA in Ghana but the prosperity of the youth in general.
‘’He saw that I had ties back in Ghana; of my father living and dying here, and my great grand-parents from my mother-side buying their freedom here, and truly, I have a lot of strong ties here so he thought it would be great that I come here and show my support’’, he said.
