The General Secretary of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Emmanuel Barrigah, has stated emphatically that his former president, Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah has never approached Rev. Owusu Bempah for a prophesy over his life.
According to him, the referenced encounter between Rev. Owusu Bempah and Apostle. Prof. Opoku Onyinah was an official meeting which took place six years ago.
He suggested that, the claims by Rev Owusu Bempah were false and incomprehensible to the Pentecostal Council, since the meeting was in good faith and happened years ago.
In an interview with Samuel Eshun on the Happy Morning Show, the GPCC secretary said, “It was necessary for us to release the statement to clarify issues. The meeting which the Prophet referenced in his statement during the 31st night was at the issuance of the national executive council of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council. We tasked Apostle. Prof. Opoku Onyinah, during the time he was our President, together with Apostle Nana Nyame Boadu to meet and advice Prophet Owusu Bempah on how to communicate prophecies to their bearers. This meeting in question was around 2015-2016, about six years ago. It was an election year and he had made political prophesies which we thought could cause problems. He went about as usual giving lots and lots of prophecies even talking against men of God in the Nation.
We didn’t want to come out and give any utterances to cause any trouble in the country. So, we thought it wise to ask our President, who at the same was Church of Pentecost Chairman Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah to talk to the Man of God. Most of his words could have caused crisis in the country because it was an election year as well. He heeded to the advised and our people brought that feedback to the council.”
This comes after Prophet Owusu Bempah accused the former President of the GPCC of hypocrisy and backlashing men of God who gave out prophecies during the eventful 31st night ever year. The council also issued statements to debunk the claims and clarified the events that materialized at the time of the said meeting.
