Father of Late Dancehall artiste Ebony Reigns known now as, Starboy Kwarteng, has expressed joy about how Ghanaians celebrated his late daughter’s 5th anniversary.
According to him, the celebration made him so proud and he appreciates Ghanaians for showing love to his late daughter.
Speaking to Akua Sika on Happy 98.9FM’s Happy Evening Drive, he said, “I was also very happy and proud about the fact that I’m her father. Her music was being played all over the place and all around the world too. I can’t begin to count the number of interviews I had to attend today and although I’m tired, I’m still going on with it because it is all for my daughter’s sake.”
He emphasized that the celebration made him understand that the late dancehall songstress was indeed unique and beyond what they expected her to be.
“Even the pictures and videos I’ve seen of people celebrating her outside the country is heartwarming because she never got the opportunity to tour outside Ghana. She was yet to go on her Europe tour before her death. Yet still, she is being celebrated in countries like Canada and beyond and all this just made me feel very blessed,” he addressed.
Thinking about it, he added that although happy celebrating her 5th anniversary, he feels she should have at least stayed alive a while longer.
“It is sad this was impossible as she died too young and too early. So I didn’t get the chance to enjoy her personality to the brim. Her time on earth was cut short and I wish I enjoyed more of her,” he disclosed.
