Director of Daily Content, Olympic Channel Services, Benny Bonsu, has disclosed how the success stories of African athletes in the NBA influenced her decision to be actively involved in the sport.
According to the award-winning global Sports Broadcaster, in other, for her to become a niche journalist in the NBA sport, she had to focus on African athletes and their success stories.
Benny Bonsu has worked closely with professional athletes within the English Premier League, NBA, NFL Africa, EuroLeague, Basketball Japan League, and British Basketball.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on e.tv Ghana’s ‘The Conversation’ Benny shared how she got interested in sports as a woman.
“I have always been in sports. From the age of eleven when I arrived in the UK, my mum threw me into sports just to keep in busy while she was busy working but she didn’t know this was going to be my career path in the future. How I got into basketball because, at the age of sixteen, I was already writing because I was passionate about sports in general but also I was an athlete growing up but I mostly enjoyed writing about basketball, and at the age of eighteen, I realized basketball in America was soo huge and my voice was never going to be big in it so in other to become a niche journalist, why don’t I focus on the success stories of African athletes in the NBA”.
