Veteran Ghanaian music duo, FBS, have disclosed that their reason for coming back into the music industry is to help promote dancer and Afrobeat musician Mr. Drew.
Talking about how their relationship with Mr. Drew started, the music duo said they have been watching him for some time now and were privileged to meet him perform in their neighborhood.
Speaking to BrownBerry on Y107.9FM’s ‘RyseNShyne’ show, the group said, “After the show on that day, his performance was great, so we decided to support his craft for Ghanaians to know more about him and appreciate his talent. This is because we faced the same problem when it was our turn.”
Based on their experiences, Ghanaians have not come to understand and appreciate dancers and musicians hence their reason for wanting to push Mr. Drew.
“People only saw us as dancers and not musicians. Hence, we were not given the due recognition we deserved as a dancers and musicians,” they said.
However, they believe things are gradually changing and getting better.
“It’s more like a wakeup call to Ghanaians because they have realized that they’ve lost something they used to have. So, honestly our aim is not to bounce back. Our aim is to place emphasis on him because he’s doing what we did but got no recognition for. This is why we decided to feature him on our latest song ‘Jo” the group asserted.
They disclosed Mr. Drew’s management is also happy about the collaboration because “apparently they already had it in their plan as they felt it will be good for their brand and were just waiting for the right time to bring it to life.”
FBS went on to state that the song is doing well around the country “and soon we will have challenges and tours around the country.”
