Upcoming musician, Alampan, has put forth his opinion about the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), saying that it has done nothing to push upcoming musicians like himself.
Speaking with host of eTV Ghana’s Late Nite Celebrity Show host, Foster Romanus on the show, he stated that there is a chance that MUSIGA has done something for some artistes, probably those who are already in the scene, however, personally, he does not see what they have done.
The musician, after calling on MUSIGA to help upcoming artistes like himself, went on to share his opinion on how exactly he thinks the union can help them.
He said, “We promote our videos and I know they have seen some of our videos. Although we haven’t registered our songs with them, at least when they’re having VGMA, they can select one or two of us to pass through and perform”.
We push very hard and we are also supporting the music industry in some way so if they see someone pushing that hard, they need to support us. Even if it’s not VGMA or any awards show, they should put us on. Even if it’s a random programme, they need to bring us on board and support us”, Alampan added.
He confessed that he is not registered with MUSIGA yet as a musician, but has already started with the process and his road manager is handling the final processes to ensure that he is a signed and recognized artiste under MUSIGA.
