Sex coach, Dzifa Sweetness, has enlightened new couples on the type of information to share with each other about their past if they want to build a healthy relationship.
Speaking on eTV Ghana’s In Bed with Adwen adult show, she said to the host, Adwen the Love Doctor that some things about everyone’s past may be deep enough to make or break a relationship. Therefore, in as much as it is important for couples to tell each other about their pasts, they also need to know which information they can share and that which they must keep to themselves.
She instanced, “You may be a woman who is divorced or you may have had some surgeries in the past which have affected your womb and probably even left you barren. These are things that can affect the future of your relationship and even the person you’re dating”.
“It could also be that your reason for leaving your previous relationship is that you were being abused and going through some trauma. That is the type of information that we encourage you to open up about to your partner when you get into a new relationship”, she added.
Dzifa noted that although it may not be easy opening up about some issues, they may come up in the course of the relationship and that tends to cause even more drastic problems. Therefore, it is better, according to her, to hurt someone with the truth than comfort them with a lie.
In Dzifa’s opinion, it is sometimes better to be open about issues and risk losing someone than keeping information from them which in a way, also puts you at risk of losing them if they later find out.
