Ghanaian rapper Dadie Opanka birth named Armstrong Affum has shed more light on what inspired him to do the song ‘ebrubro nkosua’ .
According to him, he went through some really tough times and God saved him from all that, so he decided to do a song to show how grateful he is for what God has done for him.
“I was home one Monday evening and all of a sudden I realized I was going off, my sight felt blank, I almost died, during that moment in time, I felt my soul leaving my body, I was rushed to the hospital by a friend and a neighbour”, he said.
Speaking on the Myd morning show with Rev. Erskine, he explained that the Doctors said nothing was wrong with him but he almost died, all he saw was blank and nothing else, he couldn’t even open his mouth to talk.
According to him, during their drive to the hospital, all he thought of was a car he has purchased and is not in yet and also money which people have to give him, but he realized that all those things were nothing to compared to what he was going through, “I prayed and asked God to take all that and heal me instead”, he stated.
“I woke up two days after I was admitted at the hospital and asked my mother what happened to me, she told me everything”. He explained.
In his own words, after he got home from the hospital, ‘ebrubro nkosua’ came to mind when he was recalling all he has gone through.
Ebrubro Nkosua is a song which featured Ghanaian gospel art, Empress Gifty Osei; “It is a song to tell the whole world what God has done for me”, he mentioned.
