Health expert from the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital) in Accra, Matron Doris Adjei, has divulged that bleaching of the skin, does not only cause skin cancer, but can affect the lower part of one’s uterus that is connected to the vagina.
Speaking in an interview with Mrs. Tornyi on e.TV Ghana’s African Women Voices, she explained: “Bleaching causes skin cancer and that erodes the skin. These hydroquinones in the body will enter the system and open up the cervix for you to be infected”.
