Pep Guardiola is referred to as one of Barcelona’s best managers in history, but Xavi is set to eclipse the Spaniard’s records with the Catalan giants this season.
La Blaugrana are now on a 16-game unbeaten run following their latest La Liga victory, as Pedri’s goal secured a slim 1-0 win against Villareal.
Xavi has now matched Guardiola’s finest winning streak at Barcelona, with 11 consecutive victories in all competitions, Barca Universal reports.
The 43-year-old manager has also become the first manager in the history of the club to lose only one of his first 25 away matches in La Liga, with the only blight on his record being the 3-1 El Clasico loss to Real Madrid last October.
The club icon will hope to surpass Guardiola’s record when Barcelona host Manchester United in the knockout stage of the Europa League on Thursday, February 16.
Xavi's 11 wins in a row in all competitions equals Pep Guardiola's best winning streak as Barça's manager 😮
