H. E. Boateng revealed that everyday, he would keep in touch with all the Ghanaian students and the broader Ghanaian community in China to make sure everyone was following directives and staying safe.
He added that in addition to this, there were systems that the Chinese had put in place to help fight the spread.
Ambassador Boateng, however, commended the Ghanaian community saying, “ the overall credit should also go to the Ghanaian community themselves. People were disciplined. They took the messages, absorbed them and did what they were supposed to do”.
According to him, it was a matter of collective effort, and working together is one effective way to combat the virus.
“My welfare depends on your actions and your actions determines my well-being. We’re working together and that’s how we can combat this virus”, he advised.
The Ambassador concluded that in terms of the measures, the discipline and clarity of messages was very important and has helped immensely. Per his view, community involvement is effective at this point, as that has been vital in keeping the Ghanaian community in China safe from the coronavirus.
