Ghanaian Hiplife artiste Odartei Milla Lamptey popularly known as Gasmilla has jabbed Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) for not nominating him at this year’s edition.
According to the ‘Ak3 Somorshi’ hitmaker, he will not release music because of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
In an interview on e.TV Ghana’s ‘The Late Nite Celebrity Show’ hosted by Foster Romanus, he said, “They keep making the same mistakes. they keep saying the same thing and they don’t open their minds as people. I will not release songs because of VGMA. I told my crew not to file because I know them( VGMA) but they went on to file for nomination and I was not nominated, Forget VGMA I no dey see them”, he fumed.
He further made a call to award scheme organizations to do the right thing by giving awards to the right people.
“I have lost hope in all awards system in Ghana. It is a good thing for an artiste to be awarded but VGMA has to do the right thing. so that the people that deserves the awards get it. so that it becomes more of inspiration for them to do more,” he opined.
He also declined to place premium on VGMA over 3Music Awards saying ” Every award system is an award system. we will always have problems with them. but let’s be honest, it helps artiste to work harder. so am not here to kill them. so all am saying is they have to just do their work better so that every artiste will get what they deserve”, he said.
The International Fisherman is noted for his hit songs like “Aboodatoi” “3 Point” and “Telemo”.
