The Ghanaian young hiplife legend Tic Tac who has rebranded to Tic has explained why he used the phrase “Bonkotoo bonkoto”.
Foster asked why he used the phrase “bonkotoo bonkoto” in his latest track “Pene Mame”?
Speaking to Foster Romanus on The Late Nite Celebrity Show the “Philomina” hit maker explained that, the phrase is a game children played back in the day.
He said “ bonkoto is special, I try to always maintain something Ghanaian, we started all this and others came to copy. So we always need to have something Ghanaian in everything we do.”
He went on to explain why currently Nigerians are singing Twi, he said “they were enjoying the Twi songs we where doing then, now they have turn around and are singing and rapping in Twi”.
He added, we always have to be original because you can’t borrow anybodies culture so when you create something you own it, you can always drive it.
