The seat of Government has once again been changed from Flagstaff House to Jubilee House.
Over the years the name of the Seat of the Presidency has changed from Jubilee House to Flagstaff House with the change in government between the NPP Government and NDC Government respectively.
The name that was given to the Seat of Government by the NPP Government was “Jubilee House” when they completed the magnificent building which now houses the Presidency in 2008.
The NDC Government changed the name from Jubilee House to Flagstaff House when they took power from the NPP in January 2009.
It was unclear if the new government from the NPP was going to change or keep the name “Flagstaff House” after they took over from the NDC in 2017. Until these few days when men were seen replace the signage with a new one which says “Jubilee House”.
With these back and forth from the two strong political parties in relation to something as simple as the name for the Presidency clearly indicate far apart they are in seeking the common interest of the country. It is a clear reflection on the stagnation of the countries development in all areas.
There are some things all political parties must come together and decided as a nation and forge forward to develop the country as a team.
Deciding on the name of the presidency could be the first step. Let us work together to make Ghana a great Nation.
