Hearts of Oak head coach, Samuel Boadu, says his side must work hard to secure the league title with three games to end the season.
Hearts of Oak opened a three-point lead on top of the league table following a 1-0 win over Asante Kotoko in the Super Clash on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The two teams had been tied on points on the league table heading into this potential league title decider on matchday 31.
Hearts of Oak proved more purposeful in the game dominating proceeding throughout regulation time.
Daniel Afriyie Barnie who has been in superb form for the Accra-based side scored the only goal of the game to secure the important win for his side.
Speaking after the game Coach Samuel Boadu stated they are on course to win the league but more effort will be required from the players, “It is not going to be easy but we do respect all the Premier League clubs. We will take it match after match after finishing this game, we focus on the other subsequent matches”.
“We must fight hard to win all three remaining matches in the league. I can say that we are on course to win the league and we need to work extra hard to win our next game against Ebusua Dwarfs”, he added.
Hearts of Oak is hoping to win the Ghana Premier League title for the first time in a decade since winning it in 2009.
Hearts of Oak is currently on top of the league table with 59 points.
