The Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif, has lauded e.tv Ghana for leading the discussion on remuneration and bonus payments to footballers in the country.
He made these assertions in a statement read on his behalf by the Chief Director at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Alhaji M. Saani Adams.
“The Minster is happy about the organisation of this summit and I am sure he is watching right now.”
He also mentioned that the Ministry is looking forward to the reports and recommendations.
“As a Ministry, we are looking forward to the recommendations from the e-Sports Summit to enable us work on them before Qatar 2022 World Cup.”
The maiden e-Sports Summit is a thoughtleadership dialogue that brought together industry experts, stakeholders, Civil society groups to discuss the topic: “Financing the National Team; The Bonus and Appearance Fee Structure and its Sustainability.”
Neil Armstrong, a Sports Consultant and former MD of Accra Hearts of Oak delivered a paper on the subject. Other panelists include Fred Pappoe, Moses Foh-Amoaning, ex-Black Stars player Agyemang-Badu, to share useful perspectives and influence national policy on the subject and influence national policy on sports renumeration and bonuses.
Also present were a cross section of sports policy influencers; including the Ghana Supporters Union, celebrated Sports journalists, and a hosts of others.
The event which was a fusion of entertainment and knowledge sharing was moderated by host of Happy Sports and Head of Sports for e.TV Ghana Ohene Bampoe Brenya, was held at the Accra City Hotel.
The event was emceed by Raymond Nyamador host of eSports Live on e.tv Ghana and Co-host of Happy Morning Show.
