Ghanaian musician William Addy popularly known as Natty Lee, has expressed how he felt when award-winning dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale was arrested about a month ago.
Seen pushing for the release of the artiste on social media, Natty Lee explained that all he did during the time was as a result of he being worried about his brother and colleague musician.
Talking to Foster Romanus on e.TV Ghana’s Late Nite Celebrity Show he said, “I did not do it for fame, attention or a favour in return like most people are thinking but I was very worried about him. I never thought it will get to the extent to which it got because, issues come and we always resolve it without the police getting involved and being sent to jail but this was different so it got me very worried”.
He described Shatta Wale as family and he believes one can never do away with family even when there are issues involved.
“Shatta is like family to me so I just had to show my support to him during this difficult time. I said a prayer for him and I was hoping he gets released which happened eventually” he said.
Asked whether he believes Shatta Wale will do same for him if he had found himself in a similar situation he said, “Sometimes in life, when you’re taking certain steps, you just have to consider the fact that you are doing it for God and you are doing the right thing so whether he will do the same for me or not, I leave it to God”.
Natty Lee believes that, anyone who does good should do it for themselves and for God and not expect anything in return.
“I will like to use this opportunity to advise people especially musicians and other celebrities to watch what we do and say” he cautioned.
