Young Ghanaian actor, Rahim Banda has shared the aim behind his back to school promo and what inspired that project.
Talking on the Late NIte Celebrity Show with Foster Romanus, he observed that most people have the concept of creating a better Ghana and developing the youth but they are not putting in the required effort.
Per his view, everyone is thinking of external threats and we do not realize that our future presidents and ministers are out there on the streets making as little as five Ghana cedis a day and even worse, nothing at all.
The few who are able to make as much as fifty or hundred cedis a day tend to grow satisfied with whatever work they are into and clear any thoughts of ever schooling.
‘’That is where we come in to teach them the importance of school. In our bid, we donate exercise books to the deprived areas to aid them in their schooling’’, he said.
Rahim clarified that his project is not mainly for the children on the street but for the deprived areas because those areas have more unprivileged children who are most likely to move to the streets to seek answers that are not there.
Rahim Banda is the ambassador for the Free Senior High School(SHS) Scheme and his aim is to get street children off the streets and to reduce school dropout.
