Ghanaian/Kenyan actress, model and video vixen, Pamela Odame Watara has given reasons as to why she did not pursue modeling as a full time career.
Stating her reasons, the actress made it known that although she enjoys modeling, she was not earning any income from it. “Truth is, I was just doing it for fun. It doesn’t pay”, she said.
In an interview with Foster Romanus on the Late Nite Celebrity Show on e.TV Ghana, she furthered, “Some people even advised that I try the international modeling agencies hoping they might be better than the ones we have here. But unfortunately, that proved futile”.
She also mentioned that in Ghana, people hardly use models for their adverts with barely any runway shows going on. Her countless bad experiences with modeling agencies have also turned her away from that career path.
According to her, “I got modeling agencies who were ready to sign contracts with me. But, they all wanted to take advantage of the fact that they were going to help me. Some even wanted to have their way with me before signing me and because I wouldn’t give in, I lost those opportunities”.
It was after these experiences, Pamela decided to go into acting and video ‘vixening’.
She also admitted that being an actress and a video vixen does not pay as much as expected. “I’m able to manage anything I earn and have also added advertising to my carrer. I believe it is way better than having nothing to do”.
