Nigerian and Mavin-record singer and songwriter known by his stage name Crayon has shared the motive behind his stage name ‘Crayon’.
He shared that, he knows most musicians are likely to choose a stage name that best fits their brand or represent the type of music they do but, he decided to switch things up and be different.
He stated that as a young boy, he never really had a favorite crayon color like every child probably did but instead, “every color was my favorite hence my decision to choose Crayon as my stage name”.
In an interview with Foster Romanus on e.TV Ghana’s Late Nite Celebrity Show he disclosed, “When I started doing music, my stage name was July and I choose that because I was born in that month but, that didn’t work for me so he changed it to Crayon and now I’m making waves with it”.
Asked if he could still remember how many times he changed his likeness in color he said, “I can’t count the number of times I changed my likeness in colors but honestly, till now I still don’t have a favorite color because I like all the colors”.
Crayon shared that, he normally chooses his colors, based on the current mood and vibe he finds himself in.
“I also wouldn’t call myself a rainbow person but, Crayon actually is not just about colors. It’s also about a young guy chasing his dreams who just wants to hit the jackpot so there’s actually a lot more to Crayon than just color” he emphasized.
