Former President John Dramani Mahama has come under heavy attack by Zimbabweans on micro-blogging site, Twitter for referring to their ex-leader, Robert Mugabe as a ‘hero’.
John Mahama who is one of the many world leaders to react to the news of the unexpected resignation of Mugabe that brought an end to his 37-year-old rule as president of Zimbabwe took to Twitter to heap praises on the former revolutionary leader.
The former President of Ghana, who despite wishing the ‘freed’ country a turnaround for democracy and prosperity did not seem happy about the sudden turn of events referred to the situation as a “sad ending for a liberation hero.”
His tweet however, did not seem to have gone down well with Zimbabweans who have expressed displeasure and anger towards the Former president of Ghana. He tweeted;
A sad ending for a liberation hero, a patriot and a great Pan Africanist. I pray the dramatic events of November serve as a reboot for democracy and prosperity in #Zim. History will remember Comrade Mugabe kindly. pic.twitter.com/CZPKCOpccZ

Confusing tweet. How can you say 'a patriot and a great Pan Africanist' and then go on to ask for ' a reboot for democracy and prosperity in #Zim' ?
