President of the Italian Fencing Association, Giorgio Scarso and his team has agreed to host two of Ghana’s Fencers for a month, ahead of the World championship in Budapest, All Africa games and Olympics preparation.
According to the Italian Fencing Association President, the gesture forms part of the protocol agreement signed between the two federations in 2015. “The Ghanaian squad will be provided with free accommodation, feeding and training.”
Responding to the great news, President of the Ghana Fencing Association, Mohammed Mahadi said: “Ghana is grateful for the timely support of the Italian government and its Fencing Federation”.
He added that the support will go a long way to prepare the Ghanaian team adequately to win laurels globally.
The Ghanaian Fencing President is also in talk with Hungary and other countries to host the rest of the team.
