President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has revealed he earns 29, 000 Ghana cedis as his take home in his position as the president of Ghana.
The President made this known while addressing some young Ghanaians at the maiden edition of “The Presidential Pitch” where a 19-year old Vanessa Limann from Gwollu in the Sissala West District of the Upper West Region was adjudged the best among others who also presented proposals on their business ideas.
The Presidential Pitch is a project designed by the Ministry of Business Development to offer young Ghanaian entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 to 35 years the opportunity to market their business ideas and get funds to implement those ideas.
For her reward, Miss Limann received 50,000 Ghana cedis in addition to the President’s personal donation of GH¢25,000.
According to the President “This project is aimed at realizing Government’s ambition for helping the youth to unleash an entrepreneurial revolution in the country. We want to help young entrepreneurs grow their business ideas to enhance their lives and that of their societies”.
To the contestants he advised that “the future of the Ghanaian private sector is extremely promising and I hope the other competitors will excuse me if I single-out the youngest amongst you, the 19 year old young lady from Gwollu in the West Sissala District, Vanessa Aisha Limann, for special attention,” he added.
The top ten winners will receive an amount of GH₵ 50,000 each from the government at the end of the competition.
