Your world of quality entertainment, eTV Ghana, a subsidiary of broadcast giant Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company(GMABC), has coined and undertaken a series of events to support in the fight against Coronavirus in Ghana.
Earlier in March, eTV Ghana took upon itself to film and air short videos of all the presenters of the station advising the public to observe safety protocols in efforts to keep everyone safe and free from the novel Coronavirus.
On April 3rd, eTV Ghana also made a donation of boxes of hand sanitizers to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital as a way of demonstrating its commitment to aiding the health facility in the fight against COVID-19.
With the virus still in the system, eTV Ghana did not stop at that on its awareness game but went on to create skits on COVID-19 to educate the public further on prevention tips.
These skits, as well as short awareness videos, still run on eTV Ghana intermittently between shows, and as regularly as possible, to make sure that everyone catches a glimpse and is able to pick up at least one piece of advice for their own safety.
Presenters have also made it a point to share safety tips often during the course of their shows.
Speaking on the station’s support in the COVID-19 fight, Programmes Manager of eTV Ghana, Nosisa Doe, had this to say:
“eTV Ghana has the goal to keep our viewers entertained, however, in these trying times, we now stand with two priorities, ie. helping our viewers to stay home and stay safe, then we can keep them entertained.
That is why we have come up with these initiatives like donations and having your favourite personalities on our channel advice you on how we can all stay protected from the COVID-19 pandemic. Stay home if you don’t need to be in town. If you do, be sure to wear your nose masks, wash and sanitize your hands regularly, and observe all other safety protocols that have been proved effective in staying safe from Coronavirus”.
Mrs. Doe urged that the public should comply with all measures put in place so that together, we can all kick COVID-19 away and hopefully, get life back to normal.
