Ghanaian rapper and songwriter Eno Barony has given more insight into her second studio album titled ‘Ladies First’.
Eno stated that she came out with this album feeling it is high time women think a lot more about themselves first before anything and anyone else.
Talking to NYDJ on Y 102.5 FM’s Ryse N Shyne Show, she said, “As women, we know the struggles we go through and no one has to come and share our stories for us. We should let the world know that women are the best people to tell their own stories”.
Answering to why she put a lot of women on the album she said, “I wanted us to tackle issues around our living and issues that have to do with women. Not just the music aspect but everything in general. Be it love life, school life and basically everything this album is talking about”.
As part of efforts to support the numerous fast-rising female rappers out there, the ‘Ladies First’ album sees a variety of unknown faces join Eno to make the album what it is, a legacy. “When I was coming up, there was no one to hold my hand and bring me out there. So I felt this will be a way to support and help them grow and maybe, also tap from my fan base”, she shared.
The musician admitted she faced a lot of challenges in putting the project together but managed to fulfil everything she set out to do.
