Ghanaian Togolese actress and video vixen, Akuapem Poloo, has disclosed how she was cast for the upcoming movie ‘Kotoka’ produced by Yvonne Nelson.
According to her, for the past two years, this is another movie she’s been casted for which she was not expecting.
“To be honest it came to me as a surprise because legendary Yvonne Nelson is someone I’ve never met or seen before this movie. By Allah’s grace Abeiku Santana called me for an event about 4 months ago and after the event I saw Yvonne Nelson. I then gathered the courage and went close to her although she was in a haste to leave,” she told Abigail Appiah on e.tv Ghana’s eRequest show.
She stated that while approaching her, she was expecting to get snubbed by Yvonne Nelson.
“But I got to her and she was smiling. She even took a picture with me. So, I told her to call on me anytime she has another production as I was willing to be part of irrespective of the role given me, I will be grateful to play it and she agreed,” she said.
She furthered that she even asked of Yvonne’s number which she gave to her immediately, and made her doubt it was her real number until she sent her a message later that evening and Yvonne responded.
“Some months later she sent me a message that she’s having an audition for her new movie and that she wanted me to come and try a role. I got there and to my surprise, I didn’t even have to audition she just gave me the role and I really love it,” she emphasized.
Akuapem Poloo added that she is very grateful to Yvonne Nelson for not looking down on her, and giving her such a big opportunity to showcase herself.
She encouraged everyone to come out to the Sliverbird cinema as they premier the movie on the 14th of February.
The movie which is titled ‘Kotoka’ is an Yvonne Nelson Production movie that stars, Majid Michel, Franklin Adjetey, Solomon Fixon-Owoo Jnr, Akuapem Poloo and many others.
