One of Ghana’s imminent highlife musicians, Jim Pee, has said that he is not afraid of not getting good feedback on his songs because he believes that a good song sells itself.
Speaking in an interview on the Late Nite Celebrity Show, hosted by Foster Romanus on eTV Ghana, he commented that he does not consider fully switching his style of music to the danceable, party style just so he can be awarded platforms to perform his music. This being because he believes a good song solely sells itself.
“I’m doing a song that everyone can relate to, even the President, the pastor, etc., so I believe that doing a good song can sell itself. I’m not considering making songs that have the mass appeal but making the mass appeal to my songs”, he said.
Jim, however, added that although he has few songs that are the danceable types Ghanaians love, he prefers to release the highlife and inspirational songs for now since they carry a message that he was inspired to write and put across.
