Ghanaian rapper and songwriter, Ruth Eno Adjoa Amankwah Nyame Adom, known professionally by her stage name Eno Barony, has charged that women have to tell their own stories because they are the only ones who know what they go through.
Speaking with NYDJ on Y102.5 FM, she made it clear that it is only women who can make their story known to the world, and that is why she only put women on her new album “ladies first”. she said “I feel it’s about time we women think about ourselves before anything else”, she said.
According to Eno, the album is meant to tackle issues around our living, not only about our music aspect but also life in general. “Whether it is about our love life, work-life, school life, political life, this album talks about it all”, she told NYDJ.
Again, she explained why she mostly uses fat girls in her videos saying that when she first came into the music industry, a lot of people asked her to lose weight before she could go anywhere with her music and she did try to loose weight, but to no avail. However, being able to make it as a musician regardless of her size, she feels the urge to let women like her and even fatter than her know that they can do something no matter their size.
Eno Barony is known for songs such as, ‘Force them to play nonsense ft. Strongman and Sister Derby, and D33d3w’.
