Stand-in captain Thomas Abbey scored late as Hearts of Oak recorded their first win of the new Ghana Premier League season at the expense of champions WA All Stars at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday.
Ivorian import Alex Kouami Kouassi shot the Phobians into the lead but striker Richard Arthur levelled. Abbey restored Hearts lead and bagged the much-needed points to get their campaign back on track.
The win was also Frank Nuttal’s first as head coach of Hearts of Oak.
Hearts next match is a tough one against Aduana Stars in Dormaa.
