Traditional doctor and head of Sabash Herbal Centre, Dr. Kweku Sabah has told Ghanaians to pay more attention to their pets as they also play significant roles in their lives.
According to him, tradition demands that at the end of every year and during every festive season, just as human beings enjoy their favorite meals, pets should also be given treats and not left overs.
From his traditional knowledge and past experience, when this is done, it draws the pet closer to its owner and in some cases, it is able to take away misfortunes from the owner.
Talking to Rev Nyansa Boakwa on Happy 98.9FM’s Nsem Pii Show, he said, “some British sew clothes for their dogs and they don’t do it because they’re foolish. They do it because they know the blessings attached to doing that”.
He went further to say that love and care should not be shown to humans only “because animals also have feelings and emotions and they should be shown love and care”.
He urged listeners and various individuals who have pets in their homes to start paying particular attention to them.
To him, pets can save the lives of their owners and also deserve to be loved and shown care, just like humans.
