Renowned radio host, Samuel Eshun, has confessed that politics is not something that he has ever dreamt of getting involved in.
In an interview with Foster Romanus on the Late Nite Celebrity Show aired on eTV Ghana, he stated that he has been into business but he has never really done politics although he understands that being a morning show host, one is bound to become a political animal.
Samuel said,‘’With the kind of shows I have hosted over the period, obviously, you interact with politicians because every morning, you would have to speak to Ministers or Members of Parliament and sometimes people in the academic field’’.
He shared that being a morning show host avails him to have frequent contact with politicians and interact with them more often but not necessarily getting him into politics.
‘’We are all politicians because politics is everywhere; in the church,in classrooms, wherever we are, there is politics so none of us will be able to say we are not practising politics, but honestly, it’s not one of the things I actually dream of pursuing’’, he furthered.
Samuel Eshun, explaining why he does not want to veer into politics, said that the polarized kind of politics in Ghana where everything is about the NDC and NPP, and crime is easily shielded by one’s political affiliation is not something he would like to do.
He concluded, ‘’If we will get to the period where we deal with issues without political biases, I think it would be an interesting place to veer into but as we see now where if you offend me, all you have to say is you are NPP or NDC and the matter dies, I don’t think that is the politics we should be practising in this country’’.
