Popular Ghanaian Dancehall act, Emmanuel Andrews Samini, better known as Samini has been elected as President of the Students’ Representative Council of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
The ‘my own’ hitmaker expressed his desire and interest in politics in 2020 after he spearheaded several campaigns of the ruling NPP going into the general elections.
Samini despite the negative public criticisms and comments he received after declaring his intentions for the high office of GIMPA’s SRC went on with his aspirations and encouraged students to vote for him.
After the elections, Samini had pulled a total of 307 votes over his competitor who pulled a total of 212 votes, winning with a 95 votes margin.
Many socialites mentioned or described the singer’s interest to contest in SRC elections as room to upgrade his political knowledge and profile for higher political appointments.
The President-Elect is yet to make any comments on his official social media handles concerning his victory.
