The Congolese soukous legend, Awilo Longomba opened the 8th edition of African Legends Night with a highly energetic ‘Coupe Bibamba’ that threw the sold-out concert hall into a frenzy.
African Legends Night seeks to celebrate veteran musicians for contributing their quota in their various genre of music in Africa and beyond.
The Congolese soukous legend rocked the Grand Arena Dome at the Accra International Conference Center [AICC] nonstop for one hour.
The audience sang and danced along before going wild at the entrance of Awilo’s long-time stage partners the enthralling female dancers.
After Awilo had performed ‘Karolina’ in sync with the audience, he invited his enthused fans to draw near to him.
“My brothers and sisters, I love you. Come and dance near me here. Come let’s take selfies, sing, dance and do anything you want,” Awilo said.
The entire show was an incredible scene of thrill-seekers and old-timers having a great time.
This year’s event held on Saturday 28th September 2019 at the Grand Arena Dome at the Accra International Conference Center [AICC] saw Ofori Amponsah, Kojo Antwi, Congolese singer Awilo, Nigerian’s all-time favourite 2 Face thrilled patrons with good music.
African Legends, organized by Global Media Alliance, had former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings and Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts and Culture, Barbara Oteng Gyasi as guests.
