The National Programs Coordinator for Women in UN and CEO of Innovations Village, Seed Company, Afua B. Ansre has revealed how agriculture can be of use in one district one factory.
Speaking on e.TV Ghana’s Africa Women Voices, she said “More could be done to help in processing, in terms of more factories. One district one factory can be one district two or more factories depending on what we call a factory”.
Speaking on thriving women in agriculture, Afua threw light on how women are strongly thriving in the agriculture sector.
“Research shows that women produce almost half of the world’s agriculture and it’s being the main source of income for women in rural areas.”
She also made known to viewers how far going into agriculture as a woman and empowering women in agriculture has brought her.
Giving an example in India where every community has something small doing; starting small farms and maintaining them than starting big farms they can’t maintain.
Afua went on to show gratitude to most private entities like Vodafone Ghana, who are supporting women in agriculture through Farmers Club initiative; Cosmos Energy is encouraging the youth to go into agriculture and more.
