The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Madina Constituency, Boniface Abu-Bakar Saddique has lost his seat to human rights lawyer and NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Francis Sosu Xavier.
Francis Xavier who polled 62,127 votes out of the 110,403 total votes cast beat the incumbent MP who only secured 46,785 votes.
Boniface Saddique served in the third parliament as a Member of Parliament for the Salaga Constituency after he beat Hamidu Baba Braimah of the National Democratic Congress with 1,821 votes as an Independent Candidate.
The MP later joined the New Patriotic Party and retained the parliamentary seat in the 2004 parliamentary election.
He, however, lost the seat in the 2008 general election, and relaunched his career in 2016 at Madina in the Greater Accra Region and claimed the seat for the NPP.
