Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of popular beauty shop, Giovanna’s, Nana Ekua Animwaa Appiah, has advised artisans never to be content with the level of their skill.
Speaking in an interview with host, Eunice Tornyi on eTV Ghana’s African Women’s Voices Show, she noted that it is very important to upgrade professional skills because as each day passes, something new is introduced.
“Today, the way we make rasta wig caps is evolving so for you to be able to stay in trend, you need to sharpen your skill. One thing I’ve come to know is that most artisans don’t factor this. Once they’ve learnt the skill, then that is it but it is very important to upgrade”, she said.
She added, “Don’t be content and complacent. When you’re getting the money, try as much as possible to set some time and money aside just to improve on your skill and be better at what you’re doing. That’s the only way you can go forward”.
According to her, there are people who are focused on getting better at their craft with the passing of each day and that should be a thing for every craftsperson.
