Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle and daughter of former President Jerry John Rawlings, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has stated that she works for her wins and that her family’s name would not influence her gains.
Speaking to e.tv Ghana’s Joel Sanco on the voting grounds for the NDC presidential and parliamentary polls, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings expressed confidence in her chances of winning, citing her previous electoral victory despite her father’s absence in the 2020 elections.
“My expectations has always been victory and I think I’ll leave it to wait and see. My father wasn’t here in 2020 but I won the elections with an increment in my votes from 4,000 to 8,000. So I have a bigger father and it’s God in heaven and I know the spirit of my father is behind me as well,” she said.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings also credited her hard work and that of her team for her success, saying “My people have worked, we have all done a good work as well and this is not something that is happening by default a lot has been done to put us where we are today.”
She emphasized that she does not rely on her family name to win elections, stating firmly, “I’m not going to entertain the thought of a loss. I work for my wins and my family’s name doesn’t influence my elections.”
