Concerns over the lack of Electoral Commission (EC) officials and voting materials at the polling location in Tokuroano have been heightened by delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Krachi East constituency.
No election officials or materials were present at the time when journalists and delegates arrived at the voting location in the early hours of Saturday at 7 am.
Voters turned out in great numbers at the polls, however, voting is yet to commence, contrary to the 7 am as scheduled by the Electoral Commission and communicated by the NDC party.
Some of the voters interviewed by media at the polling centre expressed frustration as Michael Donkor, the branch chairman of Tokuroano JHS, expressed disappointment over the absence of EC officials and materials.
Voters were however optimistic about the voting outcome, stressing that it would be peaceful. There was heavy security presence at the centre with all the four aspirants of the constituency seen on the ground waiting for the arrival of the EC officials.
