One of Ghana’s fast-rising hiphop acts, Joseph Gamor, popularly known as Lyrical Joe, has asserted that his style of rap is not influenced mainly by any Ghanaian act.
LJ revealed to Foster Romanus on the Late Nite Celebrity Show on eTV that he does acknowledge Ghanaian acts like Guru, EL and Sarkodie among others as celebrities, but they do not necessarily influence his style of music.
He said, ‘’if you listen to my rap/song, I don’t really do Ghanaian rap. I’m mostly around punchlines and even though rap is not specifically about that, my style came off a lot of punch lines. I also used to listen to a lot of old-skool hiphop and I got a lot of Lil Wayne and Eminem so I learnt more from them’’.
The promising rapper, after landing a feature on Sarkodie’s ‘Biibi ba’ track, has turned the tides, featuring Sarkodie on his latest song which he titles ‘Betrayal’.
