Ghanaian motivational speaker, author and Chief Executive Officer of Legacy & Legacy, Mrs. Comfort Ocran, has revealed why she always gives credit to her mother for the heights that she has attained.
Interviewed on the Y-Leaderboard Series by host, Rev. Erskine onY107.9FM, she disclosed that it was her mother who convinced her to further her education when after completing form 5, she decided to stop schooling and pick up hairdressing so she could make money.
“I wanted to create wealth and my daddy had a printing press in the house so I used to help in the printing press. I know how to typeset and I said I wanted to be a printer but my daddy said ladies don’t become printers so if printing was out, then I might as well become a hairdresser.
About eight months into hairdressing, my mom came to me and said you know what. Making money is really possible but your grades were good and no secondary school would say no to you so I’ll encourage you to go to school and when you finish, I will personally build the salon for you and you can have your salon”, she shared.
Mrs. Ocran said that considering the fact that it would only take her two years to complete the next level of education, she agreed to further her education as her mother had advised and till date, she does not regret that decision because her mother literally saved her from herself.
“If you look at my hair currently, I don’t think I would’ve been a good hairdresser so I’m very glad she saved me from myself. That is why I always credit her with who I have become today”, the motivational speaker further concluded.
