Fast rising Ghanaian gospel talent, Kafui Mills-Odoi is set to release her latest single which provides comfort and calm in trying times titled “Simply Trusting”. The song has come at no better time than when Ghana and the world suffers the COVID-19 pandemic.
The song which features established Ghanaian musician Cwesi Oteng and aims at uplifting the hurting, oppressed and depressed in the society will be released virtually on Thursday, April 16, 2020 on Sunny88.7FM at 8am.
Kafui who sees music as a therapeutic medium hopes to support the youth with her music and help them see the light at the end of the tunnel. “The youth are struggling immensely and need some spaces where they can exhale and see hope in the horizon and this song will be their solace,” she noted.
According to her, ‘Simple Trusting’ came to her at her lowest point and was the only tenterhook holding her life in place at the time. “Simply Trusting came to me when I was in a very difficult moment and thought all hope was lost. The Lord dropped Edgar Page Stites’s hymn ‘Simply Trusting Everyday’ in my soul and it gave me so much hope. That was when the chorus of the song was birthed,” she revealed.
The former Chief of Party for The Youth Inclusive Entrepreneurial Development Initiative for Employment (YIEDIE) and the AGI Construction sector Youth Ambassador appreciated Cwesi Oteng for his support and ideation which helped make this project a reality. She had this to say, “Working with Cwesi has been very inspirational. He has been supportive from the onset. From sharing innovative ideas to similar experiences of struggles and reinvention. This project was made seamlessly with his dedication and I will never forget that.”
The musician revealed that has more projects lined up and thanked Ghanaians for their support so far. She added, “I believe people who have gone through pain and want to reinvent themselves would be blessed by the other collaborations.”
Kafui appealed to the Ghanaian youth to avoid any and all shortcuts that will take them to the top insisting that they should trust in the process and God. For the good Lord will never forsake them.
She also advised Ghanaians to keep on praying and regarding all directives outlined by the government as COVID-19 rampages Ghana.
