Many have chastised gospel musicians for collaborating with secular musicians or even performing their songs because they believe the two factions are worlds apart. UK based Ghanaian gospel musician does not agree with this and has stated that she would gladly do a song with dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.
On e.TV Ghana’s ‘The Late Nite Celebrity Show’, she revealed this, which however came with a condition. According to her once the lyrical content is not profane, she would do a song with any secular musician.
“If the content of the lyrics are okay, I will. I wouldn’t do profane songs but if they are decent lyrics, I will go for it,” she said.
The host Foster Romanus then asked specifically if she would collaborate with Shatta Wale on a song and this is what she had to say.
“Yeah if they are decent, all the followers of Shatta Wale go to church, and nobody is a son or daughter of Satan, we are all children of God. It’s just that everybody has got his or her own opinion to religion or whatever it is, so if that’s another way for me to reach out to anyone, I will go for it,” she stated
Concerned about how people will react to her, if she were to go by her words, Foster asked, “You don’t really care about what people will say?”
“Oh my dear, if you listen to what people will say, you will die early,” she answered
