Minister-designate for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Honorable Ebenezer Kojo Kum has solemnly denied ever insulting Paramount Chief of Upper Discove , Obrepong Human Dekyi XIV.
The allegations came after Chiefs in the Ahanta West Municipality, in the Western Region invoked curses on Honorable Kojo Kum and his executives for allegedly insulting and disrespecting the Upper Discove Chief and his throne.
Honourable Kojo Kum maintained that those allegations were false as his royal lineage forbids it.
“I am a prince. My father was a Chief. So I should be the last person to insult any chief. It is never correct that I insulted any chief.
He, however, admitted to the derogatory comments made by his executives and has revealed that the matter has long been settled.
” Some members of our party members went overboard with some of the comments that they made. That issue has long been solved. Indeed when my nomination came, the Upper Discove Chief was one of the persons I went to officially inform about my nomination by the President.
He congratulated me and gave his blessings for my nomination.”
He made this revelation during his turn at the vetting of Ministerial Nominees by Parliament.
