Fast-rising highlife musician, Godfred Kobina Abavana, popularly known as Koby Symple has revealed that before he entered mainstream music, he was a comedian during his tertiary days at the University of Cape Coast.
Speaking in an interview with Foster Romanus on e.TV Ghana’s The Late Nite Celebrity Show, the UCC trained teacher and phenomenon voice-over artiste disclosed that comedy runs in the family but he decided to pursue music to satisfy his insatiable love for the art form.
According to the talented artiste, he originates from the loins of Waterproof, a comedian from the Central Region. He added that to keep the comedy in him active, he always fuses a lot of comedy into his live musical performances. This, he said, makes it possible for him to keep his audience and fans engaged.
Having worked with some of the industry’s best, including VGMA artiste of the Decade, Sarkodie and VGMA Best rapper of the year, AMG Medikal, Koby Symple aims at becoming the greatest highlife artiste the world has ever seen.
He urged his fans to anticipate for his ‘Lovers Bench’ album which is yet to be launched.
