Happy FM, Ghana’s number one sports station, as part of its efforts to engage it’s ardent listeners, on Friday August 30, 2019 moved its programming to the doorsteps of the people of Madina market and its environs through the stations’ ‘Happy on Wheels’ campaign.
Happy FM ran its programmes; ‘Anopa Bosuo Sports’, ‘Nsem Pii’, ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ and ‘Wamputu Sports’ shows live from Madina Market. The station provided the rare opportunity for residents and people who ply their trade around Madina Market and its environs to contribute on their favourite Happy FM shows.
The OB started with Anopa Bosuo which gave the opportunity to sports enthusiasts to share their thoughts on the power play within the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), preceding the upcoming congress to elect a substantive president to take over from the Dr. Kofi Amoah led Ghana Football Association Normalisation committee.
An excited listener who gave his name as Yaw Genne said ‘’ I am happy to see Happy FM at Madina market.’’
Kwadwo Asante Nkenkaasu who joined Happy On wheels on Facebook live also said ‘’I am watching you live in my car and I am truly enjoying it.”
When host of Nsem Pii Pastor Nyansa Boakwa took over from the Anopa Bosuo team with some Ghanaian gospel medley it was a sight to behold because the ambiance changed instantaneously both men and women joined in the praises and worship.
Happy FM’s political show also gave people gathered for the activation at Madina market the opportunity express their opinions on diverse issues of national interest.
Wamputu Sports was the climax of the ‘Happy on Wheels’ Madina Edition.
Programmes Manager of Happy FM, Mr. Emmanuel Akrumah speaking on the sidelines of Happy on Wheels expressed his gratitude to the traders of Madina market for the warm reception.
‘’I am grateful to all the traders at Madina market and everyone who came here today, the ones who joined via social media and those who listened on air. “Happy on Wheels is a project involving the local community and also promoting the culture of inclusion of the ordinary Ghanaian in radio. We intend to make several stops around the country, to know where our next stop will be. Keep listening to Happy 98.9 FM to stay informed.” he said.
