Actress and television personality, Haillie Sumney, has revealed her plans to start helping the healthcare system in Ghana before the end of the year with her Haillie Sumney foundation which she recently launched.
In an interview with Foster Romanus on the Late Nite Celebrity Show which airs on e.TV Ghana, she revealed that she quit nursing in California to become an actress in Ghana but one of the reasons she did not choose to continue with her nursing in Ghana is because she feels there is a lot to do about the Ghanaian health system.
Detailing on her plans to help the country’s healthcare system, she revealed that she will be focused more on taking care of single mothers and children as that is her passion. “I have a weakness for single mothers and children so that is something that I am finally launching now and I have a big surprise coming up before the end of this year”, she said.
Haillie gave her reason for starting this foundation by stating that her parents set up their own foundation called ‘Mission Africa Organization’ with which they do a lot of philanthropy work, building schools, hospitals and more. She added that being part of their foundation, she felt the need to branch out and help out in what she is passionate about, which is taking care of single mothers and children, hence the Haillie Sumney Foundation.
According to her, things have been very slow due to the Covid-19 pandemic, however, she and her team are trying hard to pull the finances together to be able to kick-start the project before the end of the year as planned.
