Former Asante Kotoko forward Kofi Nti Boakye has shared his experience on being quarantined for the coronavirus for two weeks.
Kofi Boakye Nti who plays for Kuwait side Khaitan Sporting club arrived in the country in April being among the 241 Ghanaian deportees from Kuwait.
Government has directed that all travellers arriving in the country amid the coronavirus pandemic will have to be quarantined for two weeks to test for the virus. Thus, the 241 Ghanaian deportees were quarantined at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, Prampram.
Kofi Nti Boakye in an interview on Wamputu Sports with Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Happy 98.9FM opened up on the treatment meted out to them at the facility.
“I was part of the 241 Ghanaians who were deported to Ghana from Kuwait three weeks ago.
“We arrived in the country and were sent to the isolation centre at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, Prampram”.
“We were tested for COVID-19 before being airlifted to Ghana. When we arrived at the isolation centre, we were asked to share four people to a room but I protested against it.
“It wasn’t a good experience being in quarantine because we were not supposed to be sleeping four people to a room. I had to talk to the authorities before I could share a room with my teammate. Apart from that, we were taken care of”.
Kofi Nti added that the Kuwait League has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic and will be returning to the club when the new season begins.
