The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has released a timetable for power rationing in parts of the country following the shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant for repair works.
A statement released by ECG on Friday (31 March), outlined the regions and areas to be affected during the maintenance work from Thursday 30 March to Friday 7 April 2023, between 6.00pm and 11.00pm.
On Thursday a joint statement from GRIDCo and ECG said “there will be approximately 150 megawatts of power generation shortfall. This will reduce total power supply for distribution by ECG until Friday 7th April, 2023.
In this regard, there will be minimal interruption in power supply to some ECG customers. ECG will therefore issue an outage timetable by Friday, 31st March, to inform customers accordingly.”
