Head Pastor, Worldwide Worship Centre, Rev. Joshua Marrion Addae-Williams has explained the importance of gratitude for everyone.

He first defined a grateful person as one that recognizes what is being done for him or her and shows and demonstrates an attitude of thanksgiving especially, looking at the value of what is being done for the person.

“An attitude is also a settled way of thinking or feeling about something. It is also a position of the body, indicating a particular mental state just like the Bible says as a man thinks so is he” he said.

In an interview with Paul Anomah Kordieh on e.TV Ghana’s Christian Connect, Rev. Addae-Williams explained “So an attitude is actually a state of being that one does not struggle to obey whereas gratitude is the quality of being thankful. Gratitude is beyond thanksgiving and the readiness to show appreciation for and return kindness”.

Speaking on possibility of knowing a grateful person from the beginning, he asserted, “It is an attitude and cannot be hidden it shows everywhere you go. You don’t need to be prompted to do it you can just do it at any time and any day because it is part of you and it is a lifestyle”.

The man of God emphasized that gratitude is important because mankind was created to do the will of God and in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, the Bible admonished us to give thank for God for everything which means it is will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us.

“This means, you don’t necessarily have to expect something new from someone before you give thanks or even expect anything from God but rather, developing the attitude of thanksgiving puts you in that place whereby you are fulfilling the will of God”.

He noted that, one of the essential wills of God that mankind needs to develop and leave with is to intentionally and consciously develop an attitude of gratitude by giving quality thanks to God for all things whether positive or negative.
