The University of Ghana has introduced a new online platform form for teaching and learning during its second semester which runs from 30th March, 2020 to 15th May,2020.
The online tool known as Sakai Learning Management System (LMT) is an electronic resource that has been developed by the University in order to observe the social distancing directive amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement signed by the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, it was revealed that Vodafone Ghana will facilitate the free access of this resource to students.
“Accordingly, arrangements are underway to distribute Vodafone SIMs to all students to facilitate access “, parts of the statement read.
The University of Ghana has also made provision for back ups such as Google Classroom and the access to computer labs for those who will need it, through a booking system whereby the necessary spacing and hygienic etiquettes will be followed.
Students have also been informed to make use of the virtual training on the use of the Sakai Learning Management System.
The University of Ghana, earlier this month, suspended lectures following the confirmation of a Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) involving one of its students.
